With the appointment of Manuel Emch as CEO in 2010, Romain Jerome has started its campaign to dominate the high end of the luxury watch world geographically, as well as conceptually.

The RJ - Romain Jerome "DNA of Famous Legends" theme garnered the attention of luxury watch enthusiasts with its method of infusing the actual materials of historically significant moments into the structure of its watches.

Although the brand remains loyal to its Swiss roots, RJ is selectively expanding its geographical presence as can be seen by the recently opened boutique in the chic Babylos Hotel in St. Tropez.

The Byblos Hotel Gets The RJ Treatment

St. Tropez Harbour

RJ-Romain Jerome added another legend to its portfolio, in its collaboration with the legendary Byblos Hotel.

Based in St. Tropez, the premier destination for the glitterati, the Byblos Hotel has been luring in the jetset since the 1960s, with Brigitte Bardot and Mick Jaggar regularly staying within their opulent guest suites.

Continuing within its legends theme, RJ opened its first own-brand boutique there this summer, a welcome first for the innovative luxury watch brand. Now, watch enthusiasts can access their favourite Romain Jerome pieces from the comfort of the sunny Mediterranean.

RJ - Romain Jerome Let Your Imagination Fly

Texas Tech alumnus Rick Husband was the final ...

Not satisfied with playing out their DNA Legends concept within the sphere of luxury watches, RJ - Romain Jerome add another innovative conceptual creation to their ever increasing portfolio.

How interesting can a pen be? Luxury brand Romain Jerome seek to answer this question with their space age inspired fountain pen. With a retro NASA influence, the "space-rocket" shaped pen follows the same lines as its other pieces within the DNA concept.

Like the popular Moon Dust-DNA collection, fragments of moon dust can be found in the "cock pit" of the pen. RJ have even developed a sleek, vintage inspired docking station, to showcase this innovative and unusual pen to its best advantage.

Inspirational Art From RJ - Romain Jerome

Chinese South Sea

Renowned in the watch world for their conceptual prowess, luxury watch brand RJ - Romain Jerome has started to chronicle other inspirational artists and designers within their RJ Timeout blog.

Numerous art mediums are showcased from photography to installation art pieces. One of the most exciting artists on their roster is the experimental Matthew Cusick. In the early years of this century Cusick became frustrated with the restriction of paints and brushes and began bringing other less mainstream mediums of art into his pieces.

His most notable experimentation has been with collage and this is the main component of his latest Transamerican collection. Cusick redefines landscapes through the unusual use of maps and sometimes paint techniques.

Romain Jerome Show Us Small Is Beautiful

one-day-he'll-notice-meThe Romain Jerome avant-garde art and design blog RJ Timeout takes a look at the exceptional work of UK based street artist Slinkachu.

Whilst most street artists use the expansiveness of their canvas to create innovative, large scale art objects, Slinkachu does the opposite and shows us that small can be beautiful. Slinkachu's 'Little People" collection is gaining in popularity for his playful perspective, which uses everyday objects such as a cigarette packet or discarded trainer to showcase his tiny scenes.

The artist has extended his scenes to a global platfrom, including religious and touristic scenes in America and the UK. The full spectrum of his Little People collection can be seen in his upcoming German exhibition "The Big City".

RJ - Romain Jerome Can Fly You To The Moon

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin photographed by Neil Arm...Well, not quite, but watch makers RJ - Romain Jerome do allow watch enthusiasts to own a piece of the moon.

After the success of their Titanic-DNA collection, which infused materials salvaged from the wreckage into their timepieces, watch brand Romain Jerome decided to branch out into space exploration.

In addition to including actual pieces of the moon in the Moon Dust-DNA series, the innovative brand has also incorporated a whole host of moon related pop culture references. The brand created 1,969 watches (the date of the first moon landing) and also used materials from the Apollo XI and Soyuz space shuttles, in addition to the International Space Station ISS within the structure of the watch.
